We recently spoke with Ben Rouch of Rouch World, a family owned and operated off-road vehicle park in Sturgis Michigan. Ben has been using Gatemaster for the last five months. Rouch World offers all types of outdoor recreations for people who like to get their adrenaline pumping as well as offerings for those who want to enjoy the scenery and relax. Rouch World offers 300 total acres with 100 of those acres being wetlands.
They offer a horse ranch for boarding and training. You can book a 1 hour guided trail ride. Rouch World has an event center that can host any type of party or wedding held in or outdoors. They are currently developing water trails for kayaking and canoeing. Camping will be available spring of 2018, where you can choose to be inside the off-road vehicle park or outside the vehicle park where you can enjoy the quiet of nature.
Ben chose Gatemaster because we met all pieces of criteria he was looking for. He was looking for an online sales solution where guests can buy a pass, sign an online waiver, and get a bar code that will grant visitors access when they arrive at their automatic gate. Ben says, “I checked with a few companies that could not do all those things and then I came to Gatemaster and they could.”
We discussed challenges Rouch World faced when implementing Gatemaster as a solution. Ben stated,” We had a challenge getting internet where we are. We are in an area that does not have internet except via cellular network. I had to get a Verizon Jetpack and Gatemaster helped figure out how to get it to work with the point-of-sale. It was a challenge. It has been working very well for the last five months.”
Q: What is your favorite Gatemaster feature?
A: I like the E2 reports and being able to find all the information there. I like the ability to call in with issues and you guys can remote in and help me through it. I like that I can add items to the point-of-sale fairly quickly. I like how ChargeItPro is connected to the point-of-sale, makes it fairly streamlined.
Q: What is your advice to others considering Gatemaster?
A: Take advantage of the 90-day training period. Book a lot of sessions.
Q: How is your overall Gatemaster experience?
A: Our overall experience with Gatemaster is good. It’s doing everything we need it to be doing.
