Summer and sun are finally here, and hopefully you have a little extra free-time to enjoy it. Still, it’s easy to let the summer fly by without doing anything more than appreciating the warmer air and longer days. We’ve put together some ideas from all around to inspire some adventure this summer vacation:
Fairmount Glen has been in the mini-golf game for over sixty-five years so it’s no surprise that they’ve been voted the Best Miniature Golf Course in Syracuse year after year and the Syracuse Sporting Times dubbed it the “Augusta National of Miniature Golf”. For those scorching hot days, you can wait until the steamy heat subsides and still get your game on with a late-night closing time of midnight.
Hot summer days call for cool river rides, water slides, or The Kraken, Deep River’s
multi-lane mat slide racer. Take a ride, splash around, or sip refreshments at the cafe or grill. This park has everything you need to beat the heat and events all summer long like Family Tubin’ Tuesdays. They even have Food Bank Mondays when two cans of food for donation will get you a discounted pass. Lots of fun and heart to boot!
The Hinkle Family Fun Center has something for everyone with everything from bumper boats to paintball to lazer tag, and even a rock climbing wall. Their game room is full of new virtual reality stations that will have your adrenaline pumping. Not the techy type? You can go classic with the bumper cars or trampoline.
For an outdoor adventure complete with camping, canoeing, hiking, fishing, and a fully-maintained off-road park, head to Rouch World. This 90-acre, off-road track hosts ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes. You can be immersed in nature and still have tons of activities for your family and friends, all adjacent to tent and cabin camping, a lake, and event center.
Just because the kids are on summer vacation doesn’t mean they won’t learn anything until after Labor Day. Play is an important part of learning and child development, and at the Oklahoma Wondertourium, kids can participate in summer programs like Art of Discovery Camp, You and Me Building Nights, or Art of Play Days. It’s a great place to unplug, have fun, and learn.
There’s fun for kids of all ages, especially those who are into laser tag and arcades. You can become a member and enjoy all-you-can-play arcade games for fifteen dollars every Wednesday or host a mobile laser tag event. They’ll bring everything to you! For those summer birthdays, there are several lively party packages to choose from.
Talk about topnotch – the SkyView Ferris wheel reaches nearly twenty stories above Atlanta and offers forty-two individual gondolas to take the ride in including VIP, glass-bottomed gondolas for a truly special, panoramic view of downtown. SkyView Atlanta hosts field trips with a unique learning experience tailored to the grade level of its visitors. You don’t need to be on a field trip to download the study guide and see what you can learn while taking in the views.
How long has it been since you did a barrel roll or the prairie-dog down? You can find the classic enjoyment of roller skating at Fountain Valley Skating Center. Lessons are available for all levels so whether you’re looking to impress with some fancy moves or just trying to skate forward, there’s a class for you, you can choose from five levels. If you really get jazzed by the wind in your hair and land a spread eagle, you even snag yourself a coach hit the competition circuit.
Treat yourself to a resort vacation this summer and take advantage of the beautiful Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas. There are marine- and aqua-adventures, golf, spa, many dining options, casino, pools, and gorgeous beaches. Make it a romantic trip to celebrate a special occasion or take the whole family – there are plenty of activities for kids of all ages. Do it all or bask in the sun and listen to the waves. The best part? There are fantastic summer deals that won’t break the bank.
Morey’s Piers and Waterparks is a smorgasbord of fun and excitement. From tame to extreme, there are rides for every type of rider from kiddies to thrill-seekers. Chill out to tropical rhythms at the Ocean Oasis Water Park and Beach Club . After you hit the water slides and lazy river, enjoy delicious beach fare like the Crabby Cake Sandwich or a specialty cocktail. You’ll feel like you’re on an island getaway.
Don’t miss out this summer. Pack your sunscreen––or perhaps your roller skates––and get out there and have some fun!
